醫界前年傳出涉史上最大規模集體逃漏稅案，台北地檢署認定有253位醫師、教授疑涉透過基金會「假捐款、真逃稅」，其中225人認罪緩起訴，另27人不認罪遭檢方起訴，但台北地院審理後認為罪證不足，判處無罪，全案可上訴。被起訴的名醫今日大呼終於鬆了一口氣，批評檢方有很多先入為主的誤會。
台北地檢署當初偵查認為，這253位醫師、教授是透過捐款給國防醫學院前院長、中研院士蔡作雍成立的「思源教育學術促進基金會」以及「成漢教育基金會」之後，再向基金會申請研究經費，左手換右手，疑涉及假捐款、真逃稅。
八仙塵爆中積極救治傷患的三總整形外科暨燒傷中心主任戴念梓就是不認罪的一員，他表示，當初之所以有這麼多醫師認罪，全是因為面對司法的弱勢，沒這麼多時間出庭、申訴，只好「花錢了事、花錢消災」、「吃一點虧，沒事就好」，但他的良知和行為都該受到公平的對待。
戴念梓說，打官司打了好一段時間，自己內心是糾結和辛苦的，檢察官有很多的誤會以及先入為主、預設的思考，但隨著案情釐清，證明並無當初檢方所說的情形存在，終於鬆了一口氣。
直說檢方如果再上訴，不是明智的做法，戴念梓強調，爭議並不需要都要法院見，否則只會是浪費時間的雙輸。

Dai Nianzhen, the director of the Three General Plastic Surgery and Burn Center who actively treated the injured in the Eight Immortals, is a member who does not plead guilty.
